At this time, the Grand Forks Public Library remains closed to the public. However, we will begin a curbside pickup service starting Monday, July 6, 2020. We cannot guarantee immediate availability of requested items due to the safety protocols in place.

Please note the following when placing requests for items:

All requests for materials must be placed online ( or by phone (701-772-8116) and are limited to the items located at Grand Forks Public.

If you received a hold notice before we closed in March and were unable to pick up your items, they will be available to pick up through July 10.

We will not receive items from other libraries at this time. If you have interlibrary loans at this time, please return them at your earliest convenience to the main book drop located at 2110 Library Circle. As a reminder, all interlibrary loans are due July 6. All other items are due August 1.

There is a 5-item request limit per card and a 20-item request limit per family.

After your requests are prepared, you will receive a hold notice via email or through the postal service. Online library accounts may indicate that your hold is ready. However, please wait for your hold letter to ensure that is indeed correct. Please follow the pick-up guidelines as indicated in the hold letter.

Pick up dates and times are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays between the hours of 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 4-6 p.m.

The following service will NOT be available during this time: Interlibrary loan

Starting on July 6, all items currently checked out can be returned at any of our four book drop locations (GFP_, Thompson Public School, YMCA, or Choice Health & Fitness) and will be quarantined for three days before being checked in. Late fees will not accrue for the three days items are in quarantine.
